This site may be free, but we couldn't confirm it. Check the official page before you go. Campground · Recreation Sites and Trails BC On the east end of the lake, visitors will find a small 2 unit campsite and small, gravel boat launch. Access road is steep and can be soft as this area tends to get alot of snow in winter. This site is remote, quiet and has fantastic lake/mountain views (Sweeney and Sibola Peaks, Mt. Carl Borden). Just down the road is Sweeney Lake West which provides room for 3 units in a forested area, as well as a nice pebble beach and boat launch. The scenic lake is great for boating, swimming, wildlife viewing or fishing. There are several species of fish in the lake including rainbow trout and bull trout. There are also several hiking trails nearby, check out Houston Hikers website for ideas: https://houstonhikers.ca/. Due to logging traffic on roads, a VHF radio with Resource Road channels is recommended for travel here. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC… Getting there: From Hwy 16 near Houston, turn onto Morice River FSR, proceed about 40km down Morice River FSR (driving past Aspen and Owen Lake Recreation Sites amongst others), the FSR turns to Morice Owen FSR, then turn right onto Morice Nadina FSR at about 60km, proceed on Morice Nadina FSR for about 15km where it turns into Huckleberry Mine FSR, keep right on this mainline following signs for Twinkle Lake for about 37km then turn right onto the Sweeney Lake access road, proceed for about 7km to get to… Official page: https://www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca/search/search-result.aspx?site=REC0555&type=Site Source: Recreation Sites and Trails BC.
