Campground · Recreation Sites and Trails BC Located near Smithers, this small forested site with lake views is a popular boating and fishing lake. The access road is rough and narrow which may be prohibitive to larger RV/trailer units. Tanglechain Lake is a small, quiet lake with a small gravel boat launch. Cutthroat trout are the predominant fish species. The road is often busy with logging traffic, a VHF radio with Resource Road channels is recommended for travel here. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf Getting there: From Hwy 16 turn onto Babine Lake Road. Travel past the Upper Fulton FSR for 10.5 km. Tanglechain Recreation Site is on Babine Lake Road on the right hand side at about 48.5 km mark. Do not turn onto Tanglechain FSR (7 kms prior to the recreation site), site access road is right off Babine Lake Road and is marked with a 3 blade sign.
