Recreation Sites and Trails BC

This site may be free, but we couldn't confirm it. Check the official page before you go. Campground · Recreation Sites and Trails BC CAUTION: The water level of Pentz Lake dropped significantly in 2022 and has not returned to normal levels, therefore, launching boats on trailers may be difficult as the boat launch is quite flat with deep mud. Launching trailered boats is not recommended due to risk of getting stuck in the mud. This small 6 unit site is most popular for day-use, picnics, swimming and boating/paddling. This site features a brand new (2022) land-based dock and a floating swimming dock in the lake. The lake is very popular in summer as it's one of the nicest swimming lakes in the area with a nice sand/gravel beach. It is possible to hand launch small boats at the southern end of the rec site. There are cutthroat trout in the lake for anglers. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures:… Getting there: Head north of Hazelton and Kispiox Village on Kispiox Valley Rd for 13km then turn right on Kispiox Trail, then turn left at Poplar Park Rd at 26km on Kispiox Trail to cross the Kispiox River, proceed about 6km up Poplar Park Road to junction of Helen Lake FSR, stay right and proceed about 5km to Pentz Lake. Site is located on the left hand side of the road and marked with a kisok and 3 blade sign.
