Campground · National Park Service Fees: Sunset Campground Camping - Standard Rate: $18.00; Sunset Campground Camping - Senior/Access Pass Rate: $9.00 Reservations: All sites are first come, first served, however the NPS reserves the right to reserve sites at any time due to management needs. ***Scheduled to open mid to late November 2026. Check our Alerts and Conditions page for up-to-date information. Open seasonally, typically late fall through mid-April. First-come, first-served, large campground that rarely fills. This location has little to no vegetation and is comprised of desert gravels. Car and tent camping is permitted. No picnic tables or fire rings. Campfires are not allowed in Sunset except at a few established community fire grates within the campground. Getting there: Gravel road across from the Timbisha Shoshone village.
